POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:
Prior to participating, participants should review the SCGA’s Policies & Procedures.
STRACKALINE YARDAGE BOOK:
The SCGA and StrackaLine have teamed up to allow our participants the availability to purchase StrackaLine Yardage & Green booklets at a discounted price. Click here to purchase your StrackaLine Booklet for Desert Springs GC (Palm). All booklets conform to the Rules of Golf and may be used in tournament play.
FORMAT:
- All players on a side will participate in a 36-hole Pinehurst-chapman stroke-play championship (18 holes each day).
- 30 sides will compete in the gross championship. 30 sides will compete in the net championship
- Awards will be given to those who finish in 1st through 5th place. In the event of a tie for first place in the gross division, there will be a hole-by-hole playoff immediately following the conclusion of regular play.
REGISTRATION:
Players should check in at the registration table located in the cart staging area each morning by 7:45 a.m.
PRACTICE ROUNDS:
- Players may plan for practice rounds at their own expense. To book a practice round, contact the Golf Shop at (760) 341-1756
- A discounted fee of $59 will be available after 9 am. Please identify yourself as a SCGA Mixed Team Championship participant when booking.
- Practice rounds are a privilege, not a right. The SCGA works with a variety of facilities throughout the course of the year, all of which have unique policies and procedures when it comes to practice rounds. These opportunities will be provided at the sole discretion of the host facility.
- We are guests and must follow all facility policies and guidelines when on property. Behavior during practice rounds will be subject to the SCGA Code of Conduct.
STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS:
- Starting holes and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted online at scga.org one week in advance of the championship.
- The starting time will be an 8 a.m. shotgun on both days.
- Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes in advance of their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive once the preceding group has teed off. Players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 8:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 8:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late.
TEES & YARDAGE:
All yardages and course information can be found in the Yardage Information tab located on the Championship Portal.
DRIVING RANGE:
- The driving range will be available by 7:00 a.m. on each morning of the championship.
- Range balls will be provided compliments of Desert Springs Golf Club and the SCGA.
FOOD SERVICE & PURCHASES:
- The Snack bar will be open at 7 a.m. each day.
- All participants will receive a $25 gift card at check-in on Monday.
- Cash and all major credit cards will be the only payment accepted for purchases.
RULES OF PLAY:
- The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA and The R&A govern play.

GOLF CARTS, PULL/PUSH CARTS:
- Golf carts are included with the entry fee; however, players who are able and willing to walk may do so.
- There will be a maximum of two carts per group and two bags per cart. Players wishing to ride will be expected to share a cart with another player.
- Each player is entitled to one seat in a cart. If a player brings a caddie, the caddie may ride provided there is a vacant seat in one of the carts. Otherwise, either the player or the caddie must walk.
- Drivers must be at least 16 years of age (or older if club policy dictates).
- Pull or push carts are permitted. Desert Springs does not have any push carts available for rental.
CADDIES & SPECTATORS:
- Players may provide their own caddie (see the section on golf carts).
- Spectators are NOT permitted.
DRESS CODE:
Appropriate golf attire must be worn, including adhering to any facility-specific policies.
CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS:
- To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of an SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Championships & Golf Operations Department at champs@scga.org.
- Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions.
- Refund Policy:
- Cancelation prior to the entry closing date: Full refund less a $20 administrative fee.
- Cancelation after the entry closing date and more than 48 hours prior to the start of the competition: 50% of the entry fee.
- Cancelation within 48 hours of the start of the competition: No refund.
